Our group is Corpus Christi Tacos Not Bombs. We are a group who believe every human being should have access to the basics of life. We provide food, drink, hygiene items, clothing, blankets and other items needed for our friends to survive in this community. We serve a hot meal and beverages each Sunday in a local park to homeless individuals and families, and also to those in the community who struggle to meet their day to day needs due to low income, unemployment or unforeseen situations.
We do all of this out of pocket and utilize our time to prepare and serve these meals each week, rain or shine. We are committed to making a difference in their lives.
As the number of those needing help increase, we are seeking funds to assist us in purchasing the main course food items, drinks, supplies needed(plates, utensils, napkins,serving gloves, sanitizer, etc.) and emergency items for those we serve, when needed. Members of our group will continue to prepare the main course, provide side dishes, bread and desserts, and, of course, our time.
Our need is immediate, as our numbers have increased from approximately 50 - 60 persons each week to easily averaging over 100.
We would be extremely grateful to anyone who could donate any amount of money. No amount is too small.
We are all regular people living regular lives. We see a need in Corpus Christi each week, actually each day and know we do make a difference, if only in a small way and for a few hours each week in the lives of those we call our "friends". They are truly thankful for what we do and some say they are lucky to know us. Honestly, we are the lucky ones...
