Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund

Friends,

Encouraged by the requests from many of you, my friend Gaurav and I have started this fundraiser for Nepal Earthquake Relief. We have learned that most people who want to help are running against a wall when it comes to effectively deploying the supplies: the donors aren't able to find right channels to distribute the goods and the rescuers aren't able to find suppliers to get the goods to them.  So, instead of donating it to another organization, we are directly working with multiple teams on the ground, some collecting/ordering/importing supplies and others distrbuting supplies personally, there by getting the supplies as directly as possible, to the people in need. Our focus is mostly remote areas (outside Kathmandu) which still have not seen much help. The money donated will go to buy supplies that would be then distributed by the already active teams on the ground. Also, instead of sending the supplies randomly, we will be responding to the specific needs of the requesting regions, thereby making the contribution where it is needed the most. If you have any questions, please feel free to message me.

Just so you have an idea of how far your donation goes in Nepal, consider this: 1kg (2 lbs) of rice costs around $1, 1kg of beans costs around $2, a 15'X15' tarpauline costs around $7-$10, a nice quality tent that can shelter a family of 5 costs around $100.
