Help to Aarughat and Neighborhood

Dear All

This is an appeal for help for the victims of the Nepal Earthquake, those living in Arughat in the district of Gorkha and its neighbouring areas and also those affected in Dolkha.


On Saturday, 25 April, 2015 a devastating earthquake struck in Nepal with the magnitude of 7.8 Richter scale and aftershocks as big as 6.7 Richter scale. The epicentre is located in village of Barpak in Gorkha, where 1200 houses are destroyed.

Following the devastating earthquake of 25 April another powerful earthquake of 7.3 Richter scale has hit the Nepal on 12 May making the situation worse. This second massive quake brought buildings damaged by the earlier disaster crashing to the ground and released a new surge of panic among shocked Nepalis. Those whose house are still safe to live are too scared to go into the house.

Death toll so far is 8,250, which is still rising, and more than 15,665 injured in 26 districts including the capital Kathmandu. Similarly, 479,308 houses of the public were completely destroyed and 263,036 partly destroyed. Many are spending nights in the open grounds without food, clean water or tents in wet and freezing conditions.

In the aftermath of the earthquake, we are making our best efforts to provide basic need to people through a transparent channel - especially for people in rural parts of the country. The logistics for carrying out such a rescue mission can be complicated, especially given the geography of the country but we are making a consolidated effort to raise funds and help in any way possible through small charities which are in dire need of resources.

We, originally from Arughat Bazar and neighbourhood villages, have decided to help to needy one in this area. We request friends and colleagues for help to this humanitarian cause.
