my name is semaj rock , i am a 18 year old graduate of the leadership academy for young men an first class of my school of 2015. i am from rochester ny , recently my city's african american youth has been in trouble , gang violence an a diminishing bond of the black community has upraised .the most current tragity that took place in rochester was wednesday night around 11:30 pm after a peace basketball game ,where at the letout a car drove past an open fired an shot 7 people while killing 3 of them ,once i heard of the horrible story on facebook that night i stayed up the whole night an around 5:05 am thursday morning i made a video speaking about my views on the event an about how i feel that my city should make a change an when i posted it it went viral instantly by 2pm thursday it reached 3000 views today sunday the video has about 96,000 views on facebook an counting , i was contacted by the democrat an chronicle ,channel 13wham news ,time warner news an channel 10 news they all wanted interviews asap ... a larger an larger number of murder due to gang violence an black on black crime gains every month. but i have a plan ,my plan is to start a (by youth for youth ) campaign to get older teens on the right track to success an get out of gang an stopping the "beef" among eachother and get them serious about their education an set goals for them selves an reach those goals by supporting eachother an coming together to make a better environment for the youth . then once that stage has passed i will lead them to even younger kids in rochester an create a team of all teen mentors an get them to guide them onto the right path also because i believe it starts with the youth ....i ask that you donate as much as you can to our campaign just so we can start up our vision i would like to get t-shirts ,hats ,wrist bands ,signs an money for food an other expenses to have a mass fundraiser / promotion gathering to get the word out an inform the people of rochester of what needs to happen an get them apart of the C.R.Y campaign (ChangeRochestersYouth) . i would love an greatly appreciate if everyone went an supported this great cause.
