Michael McKeone is a low-ranking service member whose mother is currently trying to get medical aid but her inusrance has run out.
He can not afford to do this alone, so we are seeking as much support as possible.
During a visit home, his mother had multiple aneurysms. He went from a vacation to staying multiple nights at his mother's bedside in the hospital.
The reason she was initially taken to the hospital was because she had a stress induced stroke. After treating her for the stroke, they did a routine CAT scan which is when they found the first aneurysm. She had 3 total.
So far, she has survived two major brain surgeries, but is expected to have to undergo at least one more.
They are going to have to continuously monitor her brain for the current and any additional aneurysms. This is where we need help.
She doesn't meet the criteria for her insurance to pay her rehabilitation bills. It would be $1800-$3000 a month without help from her insurance.
Nothing is being covered for her rehab. Only her stays at the hospital will be covered.
After the surgeries, she would need to be sent to a rehabilitation center. This would foster her road to recovery. She has problems remembering things like the date, her being hospitalized, her childrens' visits, even her undergoing surgery. Physically, she has problems walking and doing things like cooking, feeding herself, and bathing. She's also gone through phases of being combative.
