Support the New Haven Women's Resettlement Working Group!

Please join the QU Social Work Association of Graduates (SWAGS) to support the the formerly incarcerated outgoing and incoming Co-Chairs of the New Haven Women's Resettlement Work Group (NH WRWG) to travel to Santa Clara, CA, this December to present at the Association for Justice-Involved Females and Organizations (AJFO) National Conference. Beatrice Codianni, Co-Founder and outgoing Co-Chair of the NH WRWG, as well as Founding Director of the Sex Workers and Allies Network (SWAN), a harm reduction support system for the Sex Workers of New Haven, and Jackie Lucibello (Incoming Co-Chair of the NH WRWG) will be presenting on the important work that the NH WRWG is doing to help support the formerly incarcerated women of New Haven, CT. At this time they need our help. The trip, which includes plane fair, conference fees, and hotel room fees, will be at least $3,400 for the two of them. Recently a local church has secured the flight and registration was waived (yea!) - so at this point we are continuing to raise funding for lodging, incidentals, and honorarium. Please share what you can and share this page with your friends and family so we can ensure that other advocates can hear their talk entitled "Nothing About Us Without Us!"

More information on the conference: AJFO is the only professional conference focused exclusively on women and girls involved with the criminal justice system. Participants represent a diverse array of practitioners, state administrators, program directors, women with lived experience, advocates, researchers, and program developers, and experts in reentry, incarceration, juvenile justice, trauma and gender. 2015 drew about 600 professionals from federal, state and local correctional systems, as well as treatment providers and researchers from the United States, Canada and other countries.
