Jim Weber Lung Transplant Fund

Donation protected
Greetings from the Weber family: Jim, Stacy, Abbey,
and Livvi.

Jim works for the Uftring Auto Group.  Stacy is a stay at home mom and home school teacher for Abbey    and Livvi.

In 2006, Jim began having some respiratory problems. After several tests and medications part of his right lung was removed.  At that time, he was diagnosed with Eosinophillic Pneumonia, which is normally treated and controlled with a drug called prednisone.

Jim's problems persisted.  In 2011 and 2014,  the family spent time with him at Mayo Clinic for more testing and evaluations; but, his diagnosis remained the same.

In 2015, his condition began to worsen and tests showed the pneumonia had turned into Pulmonary Fibrosis. Pulmonary Fibrosis is a disease for which the only cure is a lung transplant.  At that point, Jim was referred to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St Louis,
Missouri.

After a week of testing in January of 2016, the doctors at Barnes Jewish Hospital determined that Jim would probably not live another year without a transplant and the process of a lung transplant was started.

Jim was placed on the National Transplant waiting list on February 10th,  2016.  Jim and his family were told to have their bags packed and be ready for a call at any time, day or night. The doctors said the call will probably happen within the next 90 days. The transplant will require around 14 days in the hospital and at least 3 months of recovery at a rented property in St. Louis, near the hospital.

While Jim has good medical insurance, there will be a considerable amount of out of pocket expenses related to the procedure, as well as anti-rejection medication that will be necessary for the rest of his life.  There
will also be the 3 months of living expenses in St. Louis during his recovery process.

Any money raised from donations will be used for expenses related to the surgery, recovery  and medications.

We don't know all that the future holds but we know that with God all things are possible.

Jim and his family would like to  say Thank You to everyone for their prayers, help and donations.
