Surviving after Survival

Donation protected
Hello everyone this account has been created to help out a great woman in her time of need. My friend's name is LaShika "LaLa" Camara. She is a single mom of three awesome children. She lives in the great state of Maryland with no family other than her children. She has not wanbted to resort to asking anyone for help, however, this is currently a very trying time.  She is struggling to make ends meet for her children as well as her bills. Therefore we are at the point now that we are asking can you please think about a time when you yourself may have been in a position where you needed help and had nowhere to turn so you had to turn to others for a helping hand. She needs your help and any donations will help go towards her bills to help shelter her children.

Let me begin by telling you why she's in the position where she needs your help. To begin, The photo above represents so many things for her. She's beyond blessed to be standing next to that car because on April 22, 2014 she was involved in a rollover accident.   A car pulled out of a shopping plaza and t-boned her vehicle which then flipped over and hit a utility pole. She was unconscious instantly only waking up on the hospital stretcher after being extracted from the car with the jaws of life and transported to The University of Maryland shock trauma facility.

The injuries she sustained were far less than what they could have been.  Thankfully, she's alive and blessed with an opportunity to tell her story.  Due to the accident she sustained a broken neck, severed ear, broken leg many scars and brusies as well as severe emotional damage. She was in the hospital then a rehabilitation center for one month. Since coming home from the hospital, she has learned that there is something called survival.... after survival which is what she has been experiencing.

After being off for more than one year, she was forced to resign from her position as a corrections officer for the state of MD by the recommendation of physicians hired by the state to determine if she was physically able to resume work. She was then denied unemployment because the quarters used to qualify her did not show enough earned income. This is because she had been off for so long without income recovering. She also applied for disability not once but twice but was turned down both times.

She has undergone 6 operations in less than 22 months all related to the accident and still has another upcoming. She has a laundry list of issues that has prevented her from working including severe PTSD which causes her to have uncontrollable panic and anxiety attacks, flashbacks and nightmares. Crying everyday is not part of a normal persons life. She still finds humor in the fact that her children refer to her as Dory because she forgets things within moments of being told. Two surgeries on a dislocated finger has left her right hand permanently disfigured which makes it of course difficult to do pretty much anything. Her entire left side is difficult to move around because of the 3 operations she has had from her shoulder, thigh and knee area. So many things medically have kept her from returning to life like prior to this accident.

As I stated she's a single mom making choices about buying food or having gas to transport her children to and from school.   Government assistance has been a nightmare to obtain and maintain because of things that don't quite make sense to her at all. She's been fighting for the basic neccessities of life.  In addition, she still has at least $30,000 in unpaid medical bills.

Having worked since 15 years of age she finds it very heartbreaking that living in this great nation, it is this difficult for a person that is truly in need.  Her circumstances can be proven by detailed documentation by dozens of medical professionals.   Every charitable organization and or place that she has been referred to for help is almost always a dead end because no one has funding at the moment or any moment. So she really needs you guys to pull together and help if possible!

She's in serious need of everything to take care of her family. She does not know when or if she will ever be able return to work. It would be life changing for her to get help as she's a person who truly, truly needs it. She has managed to hold things together the best she could these past two years but has run out of everything needed to support her family. I thank anyone in advance who even took a moment to read this and being the sweet and caring person that she is, I'm sure she's thanking everyone as well for at least taking a moment out of your day to read her story. As long as her story is heard it is that much more of a blessing to her. You know you can't have a TESTIMONY without a TEST. And believe me, she has been tested beyond measure. Could you find it in you heart to donate whatever it is you may have to help complete her testimony??

God Bless You All!!!!
