Supporting Refugees in Connecticut

A group of concerned and motivated citizens from the Greater-Hartford area have joined together to co-sponsor a refugee family and help them settle in our community. We are working with the support of IRIS (Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services). 

It will cost approximately $5,000-7,000 to support a family for the first six months of their resettlement as they get acclimated and work toward being self-sufficient. These funds will go toward housing, food and other necessary items. We have to have the funding in place, as our family will arrive with only a couple of weeks notice, so your support will help us be ready for their arrival!

Although our work has been put on hold with the recent Executive Order by President Trump, we remain committed to supporting a family as soon as possible and fully expect to have the opportunity to do so in the coming months. Any funds that are not needed for our family will go to support other refugee families in the area and/or be directed back to IRIS to support their work.
