Support for Desirae Glatfelter

Desirae Glatfelter is a survivor-victim of domestic violence and sexual assault from Grand Rapids currently incarcerated in Kent County Jail for defending herself during an assault at the hands of a partner who previously abused her. She was charged with a 10-year felony; Mayhem, but was sentenced by the jury to a year in county jail on aggravated domestic assault. She is essentially being punished for surviving domestic violence and sexual assault.

Desirae is being released from Kent County at the end of May and is seeking your help for travel expenses in order to pick up her children who have been in the care of a family member in Texas while Desirae has been incarcerated.  Expenses for the 1,000+ mile journey include gas, snacks, car maintenance, and insurance. Desirae will travel as soon as she is released and will need the funds to get her car ready by May 25.
