Support for Kindri

Hey friends and family! As many of you may have heard, our friend Kindri has been facing some pretty intense health complications. After being rushed by ambulance to a hospital in Uganda, she was medevaced to a more capable hospital in Kenya. She suffered from multiple brain bleeds and has been diagnosed with lupus. Kindri had a craniectomy, is undergoing chemotherapy treatment for lupus, and spent most of March in a medically induced coma. Her parents flew to Africa to be by her side. Kindri is now on her way to recovery, but it will be a long road.

Many of you have been walking through this journey with us in prayer, now we ask that you join with us to support Kindri financially. She’s going to have major expenses and we know that lupus, like many autoimmune diseases, is exacerbated by stress. Our hope is to minimize her stress by raising money to help meet her needs through this difficult time.


Here’s our plan: since the doctors had to shave Kindri’s head for the craniectomy, a group of her friends decided to join with her and buzz our heads for the cause. At every $5,000 mark, one of Kindri’s mzungu (white) friends and some Ugandan friends will get a new do!

And…If we are able to raise $100,000 by the end of April, Kindri’s mom will shave her head too!
