Update 4.5.17: As the Robertson family has been grieving and trying to make sense of the tragedy of their brother Chad's senseless death, their mother, Candice Hackett was shot early Sunday morning April 2 while out enjoying the night at a club with her husband. Yesterday she died from her injuries. She was 45 years old. No family should ever have to deal with this kind of trauma and heartbreak in their lifetime, but especially not in a 2 month span of time. They need support in so many ways, including funds for yet another funeral. Please be generous and hold this strong beautiful family in your thoughts and prayers. Candice leaves behind her husband and 9 children.

On February 8, Chad Robertson, 25, was senselessly shot by an Amtrak police officer in Chicago during a one hour layover as he returned by bus from a funeral in Memphis. Chad died a week later from the bullet wound that was logged near his spine.
Chad leaves behind 2 small children, a girlfriend, 10 siblings, his parents and grandparents. Chad's large loving family stayed by his side in Chicago during the week he was clinging to life. As any family would, they could use support to pay for the cost of a proper funeral as well as help covering the debt for travel incurred during the last weeks.

The police officer who shot Chad has been charged with 1st degree murder.
