Support Trans Asylum Seekers in Holyoke

Check the "updates" tab for regular news on our evolving mission and the status of the women that this gofundme is supporting. I've updated our donation goal to reflect the expanded scope of this sponsorship project.
Sarah and Dani, are beginning the process of sponsoring two asylum seekers from the "migrant caravan."
I cannot share identifying details about them for their safety, but they are two trans women from Central America who have been best friends since childhood and have made this journey together. One of them presented herself at the border for detention in January (Dani was with her). The other has been in an ICE Detention center for four months already. They are being held separately, in different states, and one of them is being held in a detention center for men.
Please, help us accomplish this work in whatever way you can. Early donations will help us cover the costs of their plane tickets and winter clothes for when they arrive in MA. Later donations will help with daily life expenses: food, clothing, transportation costs, etc. Asylum seekers are not allowed to work for at least the first six months that they are in the US, so they will be completely financially depending on Sarah and Dani and the community support we are able to muster.
If you don't have funds to donate, there are many ways you'll be able to help them through this process including clothing and food donations and, more importantly, friendship and solidarity.

Our friends need rides to many appointments, their English classes, etc. If you are available to give rides sometimes please contact me and I will add your to their rideshare page.
We are still looking for a few household items that would help make their living space cozier: a full-sized bedframe, a flatscreen TV (we have a roku we can attach to it), warm winter clothes (contact me for size information), and bicycles.
