Supplies for DAPL Sacred Stone Camp
Donation protected
Hey Everyone!
In a few weeks, I'm headed back home to Iowa from Portland. On my way, I plan to visit the Sacred Stone Camp in North Dakota, where thousands of water protectors have gathered peacefully to halt the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline, and I'm asking for your help to put together a delivery of vital supplies.
The Dakota Access Pipeline project (or Bakken Pipeline) not only goes through treaty-protected Lakota ancestral land, but my home county: Polk County, Iowa. If built, there's a good chance of it spilling and contaminating the water table and the Missouri River. These people are defending not only my water supply, but the water access of 18 million others. Its construction will also make reversing the fossil fuel economy and climate change that much harder. But cooperation across communities affected by the pipeline can stop it.
I can cover gas, food, and lodging for the trip. I'm using your contributions for 0 degree sleeping bags ($50-$100), good winter coats ($30-100), tents ($40-100), solar usb chargers ($40), firewood (variable), and Lowe's cards to keep the camp going into the winter. I'll take pictures of receipts and keep everyone updated along the way.
I'm throwing in a bit to get started.
When I get to the camp, I will present our collection as a gift of support from my friends and family, and request to join folks there for the night.

Thanks y'all!
