TAX DEDUCTIBLE RECEIPTS WILL BE ISSUED AS PER SECTION 110 OF THE INCOME TAX ACT.

Our town of St. Walburg is a community of approximately 716 people with tremendous pride. In 2006 our town was the recipient of a very prestigous LivCom Award, winning Bronze in the Community Sustainability category. SIlver was earned in this same category for 2007 which earned our community the Distinction of being considered a World Class Sustainable and Livable Community. It was the level of community support and volunteerism that set our town apart from the other competitors. These are the same characteristics that will permeate and shine to fundraise for a NEW Roof. Although we are a small community, we have a "heart" larger than most. Our community's reputable pride, dedication and volunteerism will make us successful with this endeavour.
Our Communiplex facility is in need of structural repairs to increase insulation value in the roof ouf our building - which will result in lower utility costs; enable accessibility as well as update the life saving systems in the facility. This past spring brought ice damming damage to our facility. The building experienced moisture level increases. Heat loss was a major factor in the ice damming on the facility roofs. The hope is to give the facility a facelift and to pump some life back into the facility to attract more participants to the programs it offers, while at the same time ensuring that user costs are kept as low as possible to enable all residents to have access to the programming. These upgrades will also increase socialization of the people in our community. The Town of St. Walburg in conjunction with the Recreation Board, and Volunteers will contribute towards the rejuventation of our facility, for all to enjoy for many years to come.

In 1984, the St. Walburg Communiplex was built by volunteers using fundraising/donated funds. This building consists of an arena, curling rink and bowling alley. This landmark has since been the backbone of our community. Our facility continues to be the hub of our community today. The heart of our community is definitely starting to show its age. Many of the kids, who grew up in the prime of our facility are now parents themselves and are bringing their own children to the Communiplex for the many programs it has to offer. Although the appearance of our facility is starting to deteriorate, there is one thing for certain - The LOVE and PRIDE for our arena are as strong now as the day it was built.  The Arena Upgrade Committee  was formed with the intention and hope to give the Communiplex a facelift and pump some life back into our facility to attract more families to our community. All future decisions are geared towards bringing the heart and community back into the facility and make this building sustainable for not only our children, but also for the future generations of St. Walburg and surrounding area.
