Student Research in Lake Powell

My name is Conner Bennett and I've been volunteering at the St. George Utah Dinosaur Discovery Site and Museum for the last four years. I work on fossils and help catalog new findings we discover. I'm a junior at Desert Hills High School in St. George, Utah and I'm the only high school student who has been given an internship at this location. I have worked under the paleontologist, Andrew Milner for the last four years and I've been given an opportunity to work out at Lake Powell doing research this summer (2018). The park service is willing to give me a boat if I can raise the funds for this research. To date, there are almost 200 sites that have yet to be studied in this area. This is not for the entire summer, but only a week on site. We will be mapping and measuring trackways while there.  Andrew will be assisting and showing me the ropes. This isn't a vacation since we will be camping and doing needed work and studies that are so needed in the area. What I need are funds for gas and food for this research project. I need to get the funds as soon as possible to let the park service know we need a boat during this time period. I plan to post pictures of what we find and update you on the process with the park service. Since this is my first project on field research off-site, I'm very excited to get out there and see what it's like to make new discoveries.  And I can with your help!
