Hey everyone
I'm asking for contributions to help me raise £12,000 so I can realise my dream of training to become a psychotherapist.
I was really excited to be accepted onto a masters degree in psychotherapy at The Psychosynthesis Trust .
The course feels like a perfect fit for me because it focuses on personal transformation and spiritual development both of which are hugely important to me.
In addition I will learn counselling skills and the ability to support others in their transformation and spiritual development. This training leads to a vocation that has real meaning for me.
I've spent the past nine years living and practicing in Plum Village Mindfulness Centre with Thich Nhat Hanh and the resident monks and nuns. Here I learned the importance of taking care of my suffering, cultivating happiness and listening deeply to others.
For the past four years I have managed The Plum Village Happy Farm, a project I co-founded in 2012. I started the farm because I was inspired by sustainability and growing organic vegetables with mindfulness. During this time I have taken a keen interest in supporting the growth, healing and transformation of our interns.
Through this work supporting the well-being of others has become my primary interest. Having lived with mental health problems myself for 20 years, and benefitted so much from mindfulness and psychotherapy, I now want to combine the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh with a professional training in psychotherapy so I can offer high quality support to those in real need, as I once was.
I'm asking for your support because I have worked in a voluntary position in Plum Village for the past 9 years and my savings have almost run out. I'm looking for financial help to cover my transition from France to London and the first year's tuition fees.
Once in London I will find work to finance the rest of the course myself.
