Christopher J. Stuart for Judge

Donation protected
I am the Treasurer for Citizens to Elect Christopher J. Stuart to Circuit Judge of Cook County, 7th Subcircuit (see http://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/CommitteeDetail.aspx?id=31828).  My purpose in starting this GoFundMe campaign is to cover expenses the campaign incurred to get Chris on the ballot, and to meet expenses that allow us to reach voters as we near the Primary Election.  These expenses include office supplies, printing costs, field work, legal fees, and marketing materials and their distribution.  The last item kicks into high gear in the week or so leading up to the March 15th Election.

If you have already given, I send you my deepest gratitude.  My request then is that you share this campaign with others in lists you maintain or social media, and vote in the March 15th Primary.

If you would like to contribute monetarily to the campaign, know that no amount is too small, but will be greatly appreciated.

And, now no amount is too big!  On February 8th, one of the other candidates in this judicial race filed a "Notice of Self-funding" (see http://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/CDPdfViewer.aspx?FiledDocID=601147&DocType=Image).

What does this notice mean?  It means that all candidates in this specific subcircuit judicial race are now permitted to accept contributions in excess of any limits imposed by 10 ILCS 5/9-8.5(b), (see http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/fulltext.asp?DocName=001000050K9-8.5).  In short... the sky is the limit!

There is a great amount of debate as to the efficacy of money in local elections.  The ultimate goal of any political campaign is to get people to vote for its candidate.  This is the goal of this grassroots campaign:  to get a machine outsider with 30 years in the practice of complex legal matters, with the objectivity, balance, and temperament deserving of the title "Judge" on the bench.  I know we can attempt this without the exorbitant campaign funding of our opponents. Funding, nevertheless, is needed, and will be used responsibly now through March 15, 2016.

If you are not able to contribute money to the campaign, please share this GoFundMe campaign with your family, friends, and anyone you think may be interested in supporting the campaign.  Please visit www.ElectStuart.com if you would like to donate your time in helping to organize or distribute materials.  Your help is much appreciated.

Most importantly, please VOTE!  There are three ways to do this:

Mail

Suburban Cook County - https://mailvoting.cookcountyclerk.com/?ref=StuartForJudge

City of Chicago - http://www.chicagoelections.com/en/vote-by-mail.html

Early voting - http://www.cookcountyclerk.com/elections/earlyvoting/Pages/default.aspx

In the General Primary Election on March 15, 2016 - http://www.cookcountyclerk.com

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Rose Guccione, Officer, Treasurer, Webmaven, etc.

About Christopher J. Stuart

Chris has spent his 30-year career as a trial lawyer working on some of the highest profile commercial lawsuits in the country. In 2003, he was part of a trial team that obtained one of the highest antitrust settlements in history.  More recently, he worked at a law firm recognized as one of America's Elite Trial Lawyers by The National Law Journal. There he worked with another team of trial lawyers that recovered $1.75 billion lost by this country’s credit unions to the investment banks at the center of the 2008 financial crisis. That recovery directly benefited people like you, the American taxpayer. And these are only highlights of a career that has covered antitrust to RICO, bankruptcy to securities fraud.

Chris has spent his career levelling the courtroom playing field, a devotion to fairness he will take with him to the bench. He pledges the same commitment to the courtroom. Chris will be an exemplary addition to the Cook County judiciary. You can catch up on Chris’s background and campaign at www.ElectStuart.com.
