My name is Rosanna and I am Desmond's grandmother and am setting this up on behalf of Kevin, my son.

Desmond is 7 years old. He was on the playground at school, Fulton Elementary in Aurora Colorado and was attacked and left with a concussion and several wounds to his face and head. A group of children said he had 3 seconds to run or they'd hurt him. We he ran one screamed "chase him!!"He was then attacked and what he describes is losing consciousness and "waking up" after he was tackeld on his face and the remaining details are unknown.

Not one adult stopped this attack, seen it, came to help Desmond or offered any assistance. he was bleeding, hurt. and crushed.

Besides the physical scars Desmond faces, he is facing several emotional scars. He feels no one likes him. He has said he feels he must have bad Karma (Desmond described as "really really bad luck").. He said he wants Santa to fix his face for Christmas. A 7 yr old child should be able to go to school and be safe! This should not have happened and the school should be more willing to address this issue. What about the parents of the kids who did this to Desmond? No reach out of any kind.

On Thursday afternoon, a phone call was recieved by the school saying Desmond had fallin and needed to be picked up. Upon being picked up by his other grand mother, she suspected someting was off. She was told they would look into it and find out.

His father got home from work after school was out so called the school, Fulton Elementary, at 8:45am on Friday Dec 4th, 2015 demanding to speak to the pricipal or head of security, telling the receptionist his son was hurt bad the day before and after speaking with Desmond the night before found out a group of kids had done it. (He also found out that same talk with Desmond that it had occured other times from the same set of group). Was told he was in an impotant meeting and they would call back. At 9:30am he was called and was told the principal had laryngitis and couldn't talk to him.  I then said I would come in then and see them.

Desmond was then taken to his pediatrician who said he had a concussion.

After leaving the doctors appointment, he and his other grandmother went to the  school. The secretary said no one could meet with them because they were in meetings all day. Kevin said "I would think a matter such as my son being bullied, bloodied and knocked unconscious would take priority". The secretary checked and said "He has 5 minutes only. He is inbetween important meetings!" (The same person that had laryngitis by the way.) Kevin was esintially blown off during the meeting. He even had the audacity to look Desmond in the eye and said "If you do not say anything we can't help you". The meeting was rushed and they completely evaded Kevin.

Kevin asked what the school would do to ensure Desmonds safety going forward, they were told that the first step was that Desmond needed to tell the teachers. There was no accountability on the schools part. Kevin asked again. He was told this time "they couldn't be everywere".

No details were provided and they were told that 7 kids and parents (some who did this to my son) were talked to and shown pictures of Desmond but they couldn't share any details with Kevin.

Desmond is hurt, confused, sad and scared. He can't return to this school. Kevin just moved and can't afford childcare at this time. He also needs to see about getting counseling set up for Desmond and money to retain an attorney. Any money left over will go to help other bullied children.
