Stewartville Dog Park

In mid-2014, Maren, her mom Kathy, and Kathy's service dog Karma approached the Stewartville City Council about opening a dog park in our community. The Council advanced the idea and created a taskforce to plan, develop, and fund the park. The Taskforce was created and is operated by Maren, Julie, Megan, Katie, & Wendy - five community members who are passionate about their pooches. Preliminary approval for the park was granted in November 2014 and the Taskforce is now fundraising. The Dog Park Taskforce intends to use no tax-payer money to fund the park, so it is up to you, our supporters, to make this dream a reality.

The Dog Park will need:
Fencing
Water
Electricity
Clean-Up Stations
Parking

We envision expanding on the basic dog park by adding amenities such as a doggy beach and tail-wagging trails once the park is established.

Your contribution will be delivered to the Stewartville Area Foundation and bookmarked to help with the above expenses.  In addition to the funding for the park, the Taskforce is also challenged with ongoing funding of the park.  So, although our fundraising goal is high, we are hoping to keep the park running using the preliminary funds raised while engaging in ongoing fundraising.  

The dog park will not only be a place for dogs and their humans to play, but we also envision a destination for visitors to our community - providing additional customers for our community businesses.
