On Friday, February 10, 2017, Stephanie went to the ER with pain she thought was her colon. After initial testing they found her white bood cell count through the roof.
She was transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami later that night which is known for treating cancer in order to truly find out what was going on.
After a whole week of testing, the Doctor's diagnosed her with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia also known as ALL. ALL is a form of leukemia that resides in the blood and bone marrow which attacks healthy white blood cells.
Her case was different. So different that they decided to present it to the hospital council in order to treat it the best way possible since they only had one opportunity to decide.
After deliberating, their method of treatment includes chemo treatments and a bone marrow transplant along with stem cells. While receiving treatment she must also live at the hospital in order to keep her comfortable and keep a clean environment near her at all times and to treat any situation that may arise.
Although she is responding well to treatment and we hope and know she will recover fully God willing, the medical bills are adding up quickly.
We are starting this fundrasier and asking for financial help in order to help aliviate that burden and pay for the bone marrow transplant that she needs to continue her life and will prevent the cancer from coming back again. We pray that Stephanie can get the treatment she needs, so once she is out of the hospital she can live as any other 27 year old girl would.
Stephanie moved to the US from Venezuela in 2015 with hopes and dreams. She is a psychologist and was an avid volunteer at the Children's Hospital in Maracaibo with cancer patients. Always willing to help her family, friends and others who needed her.
We are strong believers that she will strive to beat this cancer along with God's helping hand. Anything helps and we will be eternally greatful.

El viernes, 10 de febrero de 2017, Stephanie fue a la sala de emergencias con un dolor que ella pensaba que era su colon. Después de las pruebas iniciales, encontraron su conteo de células blancas demasiado alto. Fue trasladada a Jackson Memorial Hospital en Miami esa misma noche que es conocido por tratar el cáncer con el fin de descubrir verdaderamente lo que estaba pasando. Después de una semana entera de la prueba, el doctor le diagnosticó leucemia linfocitica aguda, también conocida como ALL. La ALL es una forma de leucemia que reside en la sangre y la médula ósea que ataca los glóbulos blancos sanos. Su caso era diferente. Tan diferentes que decidieron presentarlo al consejo de tunores del hospital para tratarlo de la mejor manera posible, ya que sólo tienen una oportunidad de decidir. Después de la deliberación determinaron su método de tratamiento, incluyendo quimioterapia y una vez que este en remision, un transplante de médula ósea o de celulas madres para que no regrese la enfermedad. Mientras recibe tratamiento, también debe vivir en el hospital con el fin de que si se presenta cualquir situacion sea atendida inmediatamente y mantener un ambiente limpio cerca de ella en todo momento para evitar enfermedades o infecciones que no puede manejar en este momento. Gracias a Dios ella ya comenzo su tratamiento la semana pasada y está respondiendo bien al mismo, esperamos y confiamos que ella se recuperará totalmente con el favor de Dios, pero las cuentas médicas se suman rápidamente. Estamos comenzando este fondo y pidiendo ayuda financiera para ayudar a aliviar esa carga y pagar por el trasplante de médula ósea que tanto necesita para continuar su vida. Oramos para que Stephanie pueda recibir el tratamiento que necesita, y una vez que esté fuera del hospital, pueda vivir como cualquier otra chica de 27 años. Stephanie se trasladó a los Estados Unidos desde Venezuela en el 2015 con muchas ilusiones y esperanzas. Ella es psicóloga y fue voluntaria ávida en el Hospital Infantil de Maracaibo con pacientes con cáncer. Siempre dispuesto a ayudar a su familia, amigos y a otros que la necesitaran. Somos creyentes que ella tendra la fortaleza para vencer este cáncer de la mano de Dios. Cualquier aporte sera de gran ayuda y estaremos eternamente agradecidos.
