Starving Artist, Would Like to Eat

Greetings and salutations, all. I'm Joshua Calkins-Treworgy, and as an indie author, I'm more than familiar with the moniker 'starving artist'. Unfortunately, I'm facing precisely such circumstances.
I've been patiently waiting for a background check to be completed before starting a new job, since my most recent position was with a temp agency, the assignment of which ended abruptly and well ahead of the expected date, leaving myself and, by extension, my ex-partner and our daughter in a pinch. I've attempted to get work, and been extended an offer, but there has been an interminable amount of footdragging while things are squared away and a large enough new group of employees is cleared on background and arranged for an orientation.
This has left our collective resources scratched down to the resin in the wood at the bottom of the proverbial barrel. Since the job pays bi-weekly, even if I were to get a start date early next week, it would likely be close to a month until I received a full paycheck. We simply cannot afford this between my rent, groceries, and the payments my ex-partner still makes on my behalf for my phone service and the insurance on my vehicle as well as our daughter's daycare expenses.
We are in crisis mode in terms of timing, but we aren't (I hope) in need of ongoing assistance. However, to ensure everything is caught up and we can remain solvent for the coming month at least, we need to raise approximately $2500 in short order. I detest seeking help this way, but I've effectively run out of options that can help us in the now. Your generosity will ensure that a lovely little girl gets to keep her daycare, a grateful mother won't be tearing her hair out, and I, the starving artist, will be able to eat and keep a roof over my head.
Frankly, I'm willing to go hungry a bit, but I need shelter, and my daughter deserves everything she can be afforded for stability in her young life.
