Standing Rock Winter Work Truck

This is a call to those who are sickened by the climate of hatred in our country; who want to stand alongside the oppressed, and make our voices of compassion heard.

Our indigenous brothers and sisters need our help to survive the coming winter encamped at Standing Rock.  We need to lead by non-violent example, and show that we will not tolerate the use of excessive force against peaceful protesters.

Among the many ways in which we can assist the people of Standing Rock, one concrete and lasting way is to provide them with a work truck, as requested on the "needs " list from the Sacred Stones Camp website :

"...truck will be used for getting water, firewood, and other supplies to the camp. We are in need of something that can handle harsh cold, snow, and steep dirt roads".

Their timeline is immediate and so the goal is to raise the $12,000 to purchase a reliable, heavy duty 4wd pickup, outfit it with snow tires and chains, then deliver it to the camp no later than Dec 9th... which means, I need to leave Portland ~Dec 5th... which means I need to buy the vehicle as soon as possible!  

My personal promise is that if you can help me raise the funds, I will thoughtfully select and purchase the vehicle, prepare it for winter use, and drive it to Standing Rock.  But that means I need your help right now, because time is short.

If we don't stand with the courageous people of Standing Rock - who are non-violently enduring against armed and violent mercenary and government soldiers - how can we then expect America to unite in solidarity when we ourselves are the ones in need?
