Standing Rock Volunteer Trip

Hello,
My name is Allsun Ozyesil and I have been working as a Mental Health Counselor in New York State for nearly ten years. I was raised by my mother with a strong spiritual connection to my indiginous ancestry. I have always felt a very primal connection to the land that sprawls over what is known as North and South Dakota. I am exhausted from feeling so helpless about the Dakota Access Pipline. I live and work in New York State, 1,800 miles away and I can feel the very powerful energy from Standing Rock calling me to service.
There has been far too much Trauma experienced on the frontlines of the Dakota Access Pipeline protests. The Water Protectors are putting their lives at risk everyday they stand on the frontline of this protest, especially since the recent strong law enforcement and military presence. If they don't stand up and protect the water that brings life to so many individuals and families, they risk having the water supply contaminated and sacred burial grounds will be desecrated. At this point, they have no choice but to protect the water and to continue to occupy the site through the brutal North Dakota Winter.
Unfortunately, there have been severe consequences of being on the front lines and the huge police presence. There have been cases of police brutality and injuries suffered by the Water Protectors. Many of these Water Protectors have their families with them, which include children and although they are not directly on the frontline, they still witness the effects of these circumstances. These events are scary and can be very traumatising for the Water Protectors and their families.
There has been a call for Trauma Informed Mental Health Workers, along with many other diciplines to volunteer at the encampment located at Standing Rock.
I would like the opportunity to travel from Plattsburgh, NY to Standing Rock, ND to volunteer my services as a Mental Health counselor to those occupying the Standing Rock encampment. Ideally, I'd like to stay for two weeks, as suggested by the volunteer organizers. I'd need to rent a vehicle, fill it with supplies, and drive the 30 hours to Standing Rock and back.
This is where the fundraising comes in, I need YOUR help to help me get there! Any amount will help!
I plan to make the pilgrimage to Standing Rock sometime in mid-December to early January because that is when my Winter break takes place and this will be when volunteers are most scarce due to the trecherous North Dakota Winters.
Not only would I personally be so incredibly honored and grateful for your donation to this cause, but think of what it will mean to the individuals on the front line, protecting our water (and their families)!!!
