Standing Rock Shelter
Donation protected
Three weeks ago we arrived at the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota. We brought with us materials to build three homes, hundreds of pounds of organic food, a crew of experienced carpenters, and a team of heart felt people to stand in solidarity with first nation tribes in peace and prayer.
Since arriving we have constructed two 150 SF insulated shelters complete with solar arrays and wood stoves, donated all the materials for a third mobile home, and distributed high quality winter gear and large quantities of food.
Now we are setting our sights on more builds. We have already completed a set of construction documents for a 200 SF building to house members of the Hualapai and Chumash tribes. The only thing holding us back is acquiring funds for building materials.
100% of your donation will go towards acquiring materials in order to construct shelters. If we have any remaining funds after the builds are completed it will be donated directly to first nation tribes.
There are many people: 50, 60+ years old, putting their lives on the line to protect our earth, our water, our people. Here to call forth the more beautiful world we all know is possible. Many of these people are currently seeking shelter in two season tents wrapped in tarps. These people deserve a comfortable and warm space for the harsh winter months to come. This is what we intend to help provide.
