Stand by Diane Paulin

Diane Paulin was a Mental Health Nurse in the Forensic Program at North Bay Regional Health Centre. She served our community for 24 years.
On August 24, 2011 her career ended abruptly due to the fact that she was beaten by a patient she was attempting to comfort.
Diane attempted to return to work  numerous times without success, over the next 2 to 3 years
she was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other physical/medical conditions. Diane even attempted to re locate to Sudbury to return to work. She lost her partner during this time in Sudbury. Her mental illness became worse and she had to return home to North Bay.
On January 2015 the WSIB cut her wages in half as they  stated she could work in customer service. This was not successful even though Diane struggled to remain employed. In 2017 Diane was successful in receiving CPP Disability, but this income did not provide a living wage. She put her house on the market and was unsuccessful in selling it. She exhausted all her retirement funds to pay her debt and incoming bills.
On November 9, 2017 she attended the WSIB tribunal and presented her case on appeal. Now she awaits a decision, which could take 12 weeks.
Diane has been notified by the city that a lean will be placed on her house as of January 2018. This will make it more difficult to sell when she puts it back on the market in the Spring.  Diane has exhausted all her resourses and at this time is in a desperate situation.
I could not stand by and watch Diane struggle when she has given so much during her career as a nurse.
I know this is a tough time of year for many, and Diane is reluctant to ask for money, knowing full well that there are many that are much worse off than her. Any amount would be welcomed, and much appreciated. She does not stand alone and I refuse to stand by and do nothing.
The money donated will help to pay back taxes and the fees associated with being in arrears. Let's get her through the winter!
Thank you!
