HOCgrooming, New Equipment Fund

Heart of Chicago Grooming, located at 1921 S Blue Island Ave, is Pilsen's #1 stop for petcare needs whether it be grooming, pet food, advice, or networking opportunities. Started by owner/groomer and Pilsen risedent John Whedbee from his apartment in July of 2014, Heart of Chicago Grooming has grown to serve the community one client at a time. John takes a new approach to the grooming industry by creating a relaxed environment for pets, scheduling grooms one at a time and dedicating himself to the study of skin and coat health and dog behavior. He also works closely with clients to help them understand the individualized needs of their pet(s) and how to maintain them at home. Last but not least, there are a number of discounts offered to first-time clients, return clients on schedule, clients with more than one pet and senior residents of Pilsen. 

In October of 2015 Heart of Chicago Grooming made the move into their location on Blue Island Ave and now hope to replace some of their old equipment. A new tub, new grooming tables, and a freezer for raw pet food are the items needed. Beyond replacing those pieces of equipment there are some minor improvements to the shop to be made (replacing their front door and adding shelving units for retail items)  and a few overhead costs from the initial buildout.
