Sponsored Walk For Willowburn

As members of the community, we find the need to give something back. We have decided to work in partnership with Willowburn Hospice to help provide money for those who provide palliative care to make people as comfortable as possible before they pass away.
The people at Willowburn hospice provide palliative care to those who need it and to help them, we would like to give up our time to raise money for the hospice to ensure they have the money to give care, as well as raising awareness for the hospice and the work that they do.
Willowburn hospice needs £1.5 million to stay running and offer the care that it does. £500,000 of this comes from the NHS, however this means that there is still £1 million that Willowburn still has to raise for themselves. This is very difficult for such a small charity so we have decided to offer our help. A donation as small as £20 is enough to pay for their electricity in their inpatient unit for a day.
We plan to hold a sponsored walk from Willowburn Hospice to Durham Bus Station to raise money to donate to the hospice. The total walk is just over 9 miles and will be held on Wednesday 25th July. While our team will be the only people walking, feel free to donate to help us raise money to donate to Willowburn hospice.
