Sponsor A Cartoon Cuts Stylist - Gladys

My company, Cartoon Cuts, will match the funds I raise, dollar for dollar, so that I can travel to Thailand to provide free haircutting training to people living in critical poverty. 

We have partnered with Hair Aid, an Australian charity founded in 2013. In Thailand, we will teach a five-day haircutting course, enabling trainees to start their own micro-businesses. 

Cartoon Cuts has recently started a program to send stylists to join Hair Aid projects in Southeast Asia. In addition to matching the funds I raise ($1,600), dollar for dollar, Cartoon Cuts will also pay me for the time that I am on the trip. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I am honored to be given the chance to go. 

To apply for the program with Cartoon Cuts, we were asked to answer the following question: Why would you want to spend a week training people the skill of cutting hair? Below is my submission: 

I would like to participate in the Hair Aid program, because not only can I help other people to learn some fundamental skills, but these skills will enable them to have a better life. I personally know how much of a struggle it can be, raising kids as a single mom, like many women in the world. This trip is an opportunity to be  able to teach and share my knowledge to those in need. Not only would I be helping them, but more importantly, I would also be giving them the hope for a new path. It would be an honor for me to join this trip and represent Cartoon Cuts.

Should I be so fortunate as to raise more than $1,600, the additional funds will be used for supplies for the Hair Aid trainees. I promise to help change lives, and share pictures, stories and memories when I return from my trip!
