A splash park in Thief River Falls will not only provide inexpensive entertainment for residents, but also draw in visitors from neighboring communities and serve as an incentive for prospective residents to move to the city.
I am a member of the Splash Park Committee. The Committee, made up entirely of citizens who would like to see a splash park built in our community, have worked for months on location and design. While the city supports what we are doing, this fundraiser is a private initiative. This fundraiser comes from a group of volunteers wanting to rally with our town and bring something wonderful for the young kids in our community and surrounding communities.
The total cost of the splash park is $297,000 - which includes infrastructure such as bathroon remodel. We have some money already in the City of Thief River Falls account and we already have some larger committments from private donors, so the total on this GoFundMe page relfects to total cost of the park minus what we have already collected. So the total on this page is the amount that remains to be raised. If we raise $100,000 in the next month or two, we might be able to get the ground prep work started still this season!
Please contribute, even if it is only $1! Many private contribution from individauls will show community support. This will help immensly as we take this project to local foundations and corporation to ask for additional funding.
