Speech Therapy in Belize

Hi Everyone! My name is Amara and I am a junior at Biola University in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program. I have recently been accepted to a Therapy Abroad program and I have the exciting opportunity to travel with my peers and help some of the communities of Belize in June of 2019!
The majority of my time in Belize will be spent working alongside my classmates and other professionals in the field of Speech and Language Pathology. We will all be working together to help meet the demand of speech and language services and to make an impact on the lives of the children and their families. These services include speech and language screenings as well as home health care visits. During my time in Belize, I will gain hands-on experience in the field of Speech and Language Pathology as well as a better understanding of global issues.
Although the main priority of this trip is to take care of and serve the families of Belize, I will also have the opportunity to explore some of the country's history and culture, including exploration of the Mayan ruins found there! As a future Speech and Language Pathologist considering a career in overseas work, this trip is very important to me.
I would like to ask you to consider donating a contribution towards my experience in Belize.The cost of tuition is higher than I can afford on my own, so I am asking my friends and family members for help. Any money donated will be contributed towards travel expenses, such as tuition and airfare.
If you are unable to contribute financially, I would very much appreciate prayers for the preparation process as well as for the other students and professionals joining me on this trip.
