Smiles for Boun

Happy, hard-working, welcoming, outgoing, affectionate. These are only a few words that describe our friend Boun Luanglath. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting her, you would know immediately how kind-hearted and outgoing of a person she is. Boun left her home on the countryside at the age of 15 and started working in the city as a waitress to provide for her family back at home. Now, at the age of 24, she has become a Manager at a popular Cafe in Vientiane, Noy’s Fruit Heaven.
On Sunday 27th September, while attending a friend's cookout, Boun tried to contain a frying wok that was on fire, an accident that led to her getting flaming oil all over her body. Now, she is suffering from 2nd and 3rd degrees burns to 47% of her body.
After one week at the Friendship hospital in Vientiane, she contracted a severe infection that is now putting her life at risk. Vientiane Rescue was able to aide in her transfer to Nong Khai public hospital the following Saturday night. But after realizing the severity of the case, NongKhai hospital asked Bangkok hospital in Udon-Thani to take care of her. She's now in ICU, fighting for her life.
Boun was the one supporting her family. There is no way her family could handle the costs of treatment and medical care she needs. Please help our friend Boun and her family get through this tragic event. This is only the start of a long and hard road to recovery for our dear friend.
