South Asheville Family in NEED

I was part of a beautiful gift giving program at Skyland United Methodist Church yesterday with children from Estes Elementary. I was giving information about our Christmas Eve services to the families and raving about our children's program. I explained how my family become members and what a wonderful experience it has been having a support system within our church family.
Later that afternoon I recieved an email that a young father returned to our church with an eviction notice for December 18th. This young man has 3 small children ages 8, 4, and 2. The youngest is still in diapers. He explained that his mother had died suddenly and he was responsible to bury her and now the family is 3 months behind on rent. This family has no support system and no family. This is a hard working father, who works two jobs, seven days a week and swallowed his pride to ask for help.
I know in my heart we can come together as a community and help this family stay in their home. I played with these GRATEFUL, most well behaved, beautiful children yesterday and the thought of them being HOMELESS is devastating. I am begging you, friends to give as little or as much as possible no later than December 15. The family will be homeless by December 18 if they do not have 1500.00.
