South Africa Work Placement
Donation protected
Hello! I'm Anna a second year Psychology student studying at Sheffield Hallam University. I selected work placement as my second semester module and through this became aware of the volunteering project Volunteer Africa 32 degrees South (VA32).
On 27th January 2020, I will begin my work placement in South Africa lasting for 6 weeks, helping in a place called Chintsa East. In the morning I will be volunteering either in a school or creche, working on a rotational schedule and in the afternoon helping out at the community drop in centre. This will benefit the children in the school and creche as I will be helping out with assisting in the classroom, providing extra care and support as well as giving one on one attention which they do not usually receive. With the help of other volunteers I will also be putting on additional activities such as arts and crafts or sports.
VA32 has been established since 2004, offering a wide range of volunteering projects along the Wild Coast of South Africa. They work in partnership with local Friends of Chintsa in order to run the volunteering program and help kids in schools. A typical day volunteering entails assisting in the classroom during the school day running from 7am-1pm with further activities including attending to children's needs during meals and nap time and supervising play time and more!
Thank you for taking the time to read this, any donations or support will be greatly appreciated in order to help me fund this! If you'd like to find out more click the link below - http://www.volunteerafrica.co.za
