Sister Davis, of the Copper Grove Group, serves a volunteer tutor for the 45 students in the Cypress Fairbanks ISD. We desire to feed these 35 families breakfast and lunch during the week, as their family households are tightened because of the lack of support at home from the 2 School Meals (Free & Reduced Lunch)
The estimated cost of the project is $450, which includes purchasing goods from a combination of Aldi and Costco.
Boxes to families should include 1 Box of Cereal, 2 Boxes of Macaroni & Cheese, 5 Packets of Instant Oatmeal, 1 Jar of Peanut Butter, 1 Jar of Jelly, 1 Loaf of Bread, 1 Box of Crackers, 1 Can of Soup, 1 Can of Chili and 2 Cans of Tuna.
These foods are key to support, as Kids may be home alone and need to prepare their breakfast and lunch without major cooking. The students, all recipients of the reduced lunch program, can eat breakfast and lunch at school, thus enabling families to keep grocery store spending low enough to complement their family budget.
