The BU12 Blue Team is part of an elite soccer club located in Santa Barbara, CA. They compete with other elite clubs based predominantly in Southern California. Earning a spot on a SBSC Team is competitive and hard fought. Since being selected, the boys have been under the guidance of top coaches.  They compete in the Silver bracket in the Coast Soccer League. The boys travel together throughout the region to play tournaments and games with other high skill level teams that continuously challenge their level of play. The boys have proven their abilities by winning the 2015 Cal South Sports Authority State Cup and feel that they are ready to travel even further to continue this high level of play.

The BU12 team is coached by Hans Diaz. Coach Hans was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. There he nurtured his passion for the game since his early years all the way up to his college days.  He has been coaching for the past 7 years at Santa Barbara Soccer Club, High School, and soccer camps.

About The Club

Santa Barbara Soccer Club (SBSC) is a non profit organization, dedicated to helping soccer players develop the proper fundamentals, skills, confidence, and maturity to be successful on the field, and most importantly, off of it. Through the teaching of its members and coaches, each player learns how to improve as an athlete, as a teammate, and how to build friendships.

The Santa Barbara Soccer Club has produced three consecutive National Championship soccer teams. Many players who have participated on teams throughout the organization have gone on to earn college scholarships. Some have even made the professional level.

Traveling to play in England

Going to England to play is an absolute dream.  These boys will have the opportunity to compete against boys from top professional Academy teams in Europe (e.g. Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, Paris St Germain , etc. ). In addition, they will get to train with some of the premier European coaches. They will also have the chance to tour some of the professional stadiums, and will get to attend an EPL game.

Being selected for this opportunity comes with a heavy price tag. Between tournament fees, transportation, referee fees, coaches, hotels, meals, and other expenses, the cost per player is expected to be $3,500.   In addition, team expenses include attending an EPL match, hospitality gifts and tours of significant London and Manchester sights.  This figure is a challenge for some of the boys. The team is fully aware of the expense of this trip. As a group, they have decided that together they will raise the funds needed for the ENTIRE team to be able to make this dream their reality. They feel confident that together they can raise these funds. They need support from their parents, friends, and sponsors.

Please help us make this once in a lifetime dream a reality for our boys. The Santa Barbara Soccer Club is a 501(c)3 Corporation, and all donations are tax deductible.
