A FAMILY IN MOURNING, trying to get their lives back together.
Hello everyone. I am Kristi, and I would like to introduce you to my dear friend, Carleana Perry. She is a strong, resilient, mother of 5 beautiful littles. However, this year, her fifth child became an "angel baby".
I will share her link, to the story of her precious daughter, and that loss, at the end of this call for help.
So, why are we here, reading about why another person needs the help of a community, who doesn't really know the the Slade Family?
Well here are my references, outside of just having compassion and empathy, that I use to remind me, what is my role in this life...
Acts 20:35
In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
Galatians 6:2
Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
What is happening?
So here are the facts:
- Family of six
- Alex (the Father of these beautiful littles) works at Hoffman's Home
- Carleana (the Mom) had to quit her job last year, due to having one car, kids in school, and father's work schedule.
- May 4th, 2018... the whole family suffered a great loss, the still born birth of a baby girl, Ariya, who passed away within the hour before getting to the hospital.
- Carleana, nearly died that day as well, from loss of blood.
- Carleana, has had EXTREME anxiety and depression since this tragedy. And yet, she still perseveres as a teacher, a caregiver, a doctor, a friend, and warden.... because let's face it, a mothers job is all this and more.
- The family is $1600 behind on rent and is looking at eviction. Alex is working hard, and yet still unable to catch up... due to the time off and Carleana's job loss.
- They need a new transmission for their van, they have been trying to save up for.
- And on top of all that, continuing to meet the needs of their four children.
Carleana is doing ALL that is in her power, to save her family from eviction, in spite of anxiety and crippling anxiety attacks. She is searching for local resources. She is not only a prayer, she is a woman of action.
So I call out to everyone!!! Let's help this family. Reach deep down, and let's pick someone up, please.
