Sing For Shelter: Karaokethon
Greetings reader!
How often, when doing shopping or going out drinking with friends, do you happen upon a homeless person? Do you ever wonder who they are? How they came to be there?
It shouldn't matter.
3,569 people are estimated to have slept rough in some capacity in 2015. This number is based purely on those counted and estimated by local authorities and this number has doubled since 2010.
It is a person's basic right and need to be warm and safe and we want to help, in whatever way is available for us.
Shelter, and many organisations like them, work tirelessly to try and make this a reality and we want to give them as much financial help as we, and hopefully you, possibly can.
Myself (Paul), Darren and Ash would like you to donate, sponsor or participate in our 24 Hour Karaoke Marathon!!!
We're gonna entertain you, and not stop entertaining you, until we've circled the clock and are weak at the knees. We will take requests, we will take volunteers, and we will take spectators :-)
We'll spend a fair chunk of the thing at Mix Karaoke, Leeds but part of the marathon will take place...on the road!
A lucky few donators will get to join me and Darren in the car for some good old fashioned Car-aoke in the wee small hours if they should wish and we may even be convinced to have a run through the drive-thru if necessary ;-)
The whole affair will be live streamed on facebook at www.facebook.com/sing4shelter
It's all good fun and games and entertainment but it has a purpose. Please give generously and help us to give our homeless population a roof, a bed and a hope.
Thanks for reading folks :-)
