Sims/Air Credits Tour Van Break In

Last night we parked our van near Paper Tiger’s apartment in Brooklyn. We found it broken into this morning before we left for Philly. It wasn’t negligently parked in some wild sketchy area; all the police were surprised a burglary happened in that neighborhood. We lost a lot, around $19,000 in gear. We are working musicians, meaning, we were crashing at Paper Tiger’s apartment, because hotels in New York are too hard on our budgets. So you can imagine how this hurts. We’ve spent a lot of time, and played a lot of shows to earn that equipment. We spent a lot of hours preparing the best possible show we can for our supporters; I’m most bummed about not being able to present that show to the next few cities. What we lost that was irreplaceable is Makrr’s laptop and hard drive, which contained the previous 10 years of his musical work. I feel sick about that.
Here is what we didn’t lose:
Our health.
Our faith in people. Shitty things are done, wonderful things are done.
Our purpose. We are going to make beautiful things, and play our hearts out every night.
We’re not stopping. But we are asking for help getting it back together.

For a total of $18,800
No sob story. This is not tragic, it just sucks. If you know us, then you know that we are really really bummed, but we are really really determined.
If you know me, then you know how hard it is for me to ask for help. I dread it. But I have no other option here, I need help. If you can find it in your budget to help us get our stuff back so we can continue on the second leg of this tour, we would be more grateful than we could express in words.
