Adopting Roxy

Hello!! We're Samantha and Joseph Siebold.


These are our three sweet kids with Idgie the dog.



And the darling above having a little chat on the phone is "Roxy".

Roxy is from a country in Eastern Europe. Roxy isn't her real name but an advocacy name. The reason she has this advocacy name is because she does not have a permanent family and has been put on a list as available for international adoption.

In her country, it takes several denials for adoption before they are placed on the list for international families. We saw her on the grant and advocacy site called Reece's Rainbow in January 2017! Originally we were going to advocate for her to find a family.

Instead, we committed to adopt her ourselves!

We received her file and some videos to review before committing. It all just made us fall more in love with her! Roxy is a pretty healthy little girl. She is obviously beautiful too! She is only 2 years old and has a whole lot of life ahead of her. She needs an adoptive family!

However, Roxy also happens to have an extra chromosome! She has Trisomy 21 which is better known to many as Down Syndrome.  In her country and in fact even in our own, people with Down Syndrome struggle to be given the resources, love, and respect they deserve. (Just like any other person!) In Europe, orphaned or relinquished children with any chronic medical needs or extra social, emotional, or physical needs very often end up institutionilized for their entire lives. Lives that are also shorter than they could be if they were thriving in a family.

We aren't perfect people. We aren't special. But, we have a home and a family to share. We have always wanted a big family and adoption is just one way for that to happen. Just like thousands of other children waiting, Roxy deserves to be loved and cherished. We can't say yes to all of them but we can say YES to at least one!

We have all ready submitted our commitment paperwork to the Ministry of Justice in her country and received pre-approval for the match. We have our homestudy approved and have been compiling the dossier. The dossier is the big packet of legal documents that serves as a picture of our entire lives. Once we have approval from USCIS (immigration), we will submit the dossier to her country. Once we are invited, we will travel to meet Roxy and accept the official referral to become her adoptive parents!

We need $12,000 to do that! Any donation you make can help us to complete this adoption without worrying about going into debt.
