Sheridan Boy Scout Troop 117 Loses Tents To Storm

Donación protegida
While at our spring camporee last weekend at Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site, early morning on Apr 29 at about 0030 wind gusts clocked at over 60+ mph ripped through our campsite destroying over 80% of our troop's tents.
Sheridan's Boy Scout Troop 117 is an organization dedicated to developing Sheridan's youth to grow into good neighbors and citizens through teaching life and leadership skills and by emphasizing duty to God and country, helping others,  and serving our community. It is volunteer led, and receives no external funding.
A major part of the Boy Scout program obviously involves learning and teaching outdoor skills and is a vital component.  The troop's loss of these tents will set our program and activities back for several months and some of our more senior scouts will miss the opportunity to finish out their tenure participating in campouts because they will age out at 18 years old.  Perhaps even worse,  the younger scouts will be disadvantaged as well by missing out on the leadership and example set by these same older scouts.

Please consider contributing to our tent replacement campaign.

Scout Oath
On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country, and to obey the Scout Law;  to help other people at all times;  and to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law
A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous,  kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
