Service dog for Shari Wichowski

Since 1988 my wife Shari has had three brain surgeries to have cysts removed.  As a result she has a headache that never goes away.  From the time she gets up to the time she goes to bed the pain is always there.  During the day they get worse and when they get out of control she often has to go to the emergency room.  About seven years ago one of our dogs made a real connection with her and even acted weird when her pain was about to get worse.  I suggested to her that maybe he was picking up on a bad one and told her to take her medication.  Sure enough the dog was right.  Since that time he has been 100% spot on and able to detect one up to 45 minutes ahead of time.  Her dog at that point went through some formal training to become her service dog notifying her ahead of time, allowing her to take her medication and get somewhere safe before her migraine gets out of control.  Recently his health has inhibited his ability to notice a bad headache coming on.  Due to his health and age, a new service dog is required.  Insurance will not cover this because at the present time a service dog is not considered medical equipment.  I am starting a Go Fund Me account to help with the cost of the service dog and the final training.  Shari has to go to California for the final training to train with the dog. The service dog will allow Shari to go out for longer periods of time without the worry of a severe headache catching her off guard.  We would like to thank everyone for reading her story and helping to make her journey possible.  Any funds that are received that is over and above the goal will be given to another person in need of a service dog that also needs help.
