Following My Dream

I was asked if I would like to model for designer JG Indie during New York Spring Fashion Week. Designer Jolonzo Goldtooth is an up and coming Native American designer from New Mexico. Since Jolonzo himself is new to the business he is unable to cover all of my costs to be in New York, therefore I need to raise funds for myself and my mom (because I am underage) to travel and stay in New York for the week. I do not want to let finances stand in the way of not allowing this once in a lifetime opportunity for a small town girl from Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan to attend. I am asking for your support to help me pursue this dream of walking in a New York fashion show. At first I thought it was crazy for me to go to New York, but I quickly realized it is more crazy for me not to!
I started Professional Modelling and Acting classes in April 2016 at Masala Model and Talent. As I progressed through my classes, I began to quickly gain more opportunities and soon it built up to being me being chosen to participate in the Global Indigenous Runway in Saskatoon. This is where I met Jolonzo Goldtooth. Jolonzo quickly picked me as his first model to wear his breath taking designs. At the end of the fashion show, Jolonzo approached my parents to invite me to New York. My already surreal evening went beyond my wildest dreams. The next day my mom contacted Jolonzo to make sure he was the real deal, she was still in disbelief. Jolonzo quickly replied with the information regarding the fashion show in New York, this was really happening! Jolonzo is not only showing his designs in New York but is being the subject of a documentary which includes this show. I am also being considered to be in the documentary as well. I would like to thank everyone in my community, family, and the those in the industry who support me in this journey.
