Send Chloe to Atlanta! (Please)

This  winter break, I will be traveling to Atlanta for a Wisconsin Union Directorate Alternative Breaks trip. I will be working with the International Rescue Committee doing service work as well as taking part in education activities. More specifically, I will be teaching ESL, women's literacy, and after school classes as well as helping refugees to secure basic needs such as housing, food, and clothing.

Aside from making material changes in Atlanta I chose this trip because I see it as an opportunity to improve the activism I do here in Madison. I have recently become involved with housing justice and I plan on taking what I learn in Atlanta and applying to my own community.

I will use the money raised here to cover travel expenses, housing for one week, administrative fees, and meals.

NOTE: The trip was originally to Cincinnati, but the trip was cancelled due to a wave of volunteer cancellations. I was given the option to choose another trip and I chose this one since it was most similar to the Cincinnati trip.
