SUNWATER AGRICOLTURE SYSTEM
A PROJECT FOR REACH FOOD SELF-SUFFICENCY AND FIGHT DESERTIFICATION IN SENEGAL

OUR VISION, OUR PROJECT

We are two product designer that are attending a Master at the IED Milano trough a scholarship. Since the beginning of our career we are working on sustainable design and our vision is to start projects related with social design so we took the chance of our Master thesis to do a project in Africa that will bring food self-sufficency to little communities trough regenerative agricolture and a low-cost system that desalinate sea water for irrigate the fields that doesn't use electricity

We are going to Senegal from the 11 of Novembrer to the 21 for activate the project but we need some help!

SENEGAL PROBLEMS 

Senegal right now is not food self-sufficent and with a growing population and the desertification it's a primary needing to find new agricoltura technics and ways to find water during the dry season.


THE PROJECT


The people is going to take salt water from the ocean or from the wells


Then the salt water will go in a tank and then transfered to the sun water system that is going to purify the water


The system will divide salt from water with a evaporation process, thanks to the high temperature of Senegal we are going to provide water during all the dry season


We will apply the methods of the regenerative agricolture to ensure a sustainable system and for fight the soil desertification

THE TEST IN SENEGAL


We are going to Senegal from the 11 of Novembrer to the 21 for activate the project and then we will go again next year but we need your help to raise the founds to make the project possible!

ITALIANO (ITALIAN TRASLATION)

Siamo due product designer che vivono e lavorano a Milano, stiamo frequentando grazie ad una borsa di studio un Master in design all'Istituto Europeo di Design di Milano.
Da sempre ci dedichiamo principalmente al design sostenibile ed il nostro obbiettivo è quello di iniziare dei progetti di design sociale. Abbiamo colto l'occasione della tesi del Master per presentare un progetto sociale per l'Africa che come obbiettivo si pone quello di portare all'autosufficenza alimentare piccole comunità tramite un processo di agricoltura rigenerativa ed un sistema a basso costo che senza impiegare elettricità riesce a desalinizzare l'acqua salata per impiegarla in agricoltura. 

Il progetto ha grandi potenzialità di sviluppo e potrebbe essere una delle soluzioni tangibili per migliorare le situazioni di alcuni paesi africani come il Senegal dove l'agricoltura si pratica solo durante le stagioni piovose e dove è in corso un processo di desertificazione molto forte.

Partiremo per il Senegal dall'11  al 21 di Novembre
per testare il sistema di desalinizzazione dell'acqua in un campo agricolo. Prevediamo inoltre di tornare nel 2017 per sviluppare l'intero progetto nella Petite Côte in Senegal in una comunità gestita da donne con l'aiuto di diverse associazioni Italiane con le quali stiamo facendo delle collaborazioni.
