Our Story:
After a wonderful whirlwind of a romance, we were married in January of 2006. Eleven years...how has it been that long?! We both love children and literally could not wait to become parents, so we wasted no time trying to start a family. Never could we have imagined the long and broken road that would become our journey.
Together we have experienced eleven heartbreaking years of lost and ectopic pregnancies, failed infertility treatments, and two life-threatening emergency surgeries that left us unable to conceive naturally. In 2010, we excitedly began an international adoption process in Ethiopia. We were matched with two beautiful little girls, who we loved dearly from afar, sending them all the prayers, gifts, and letters that we could while we waited on a green light to travel. Unfortunately, the green light never came, and everything fell apart. The small, family-owned agency we were working with lost their license in Ethiopia, and we lost all contact with the orphanage. We also lost all the money we had invested in the adoption, nearly $20,000.
Although this was devastating on so many levels, we just weren't able to give up on our dream to become parents and welcome a child into our home! We have decided to once again pursue adoption, this time domestically, and through a large, established agency. We have completed all of the paperwork and are now waiting to be matched with a child!
Our Expenses:
Domestic adoption, like international adoption, is overwhelmingly expensive. Our total cost, including the homestudy, agency fees, legal fees, and living and medical expenses for the birthmother is roughly $38,000.
Because we took such a terrible loss in our previous adoption attempt, it was important to us to work with an agency this time that offers complete financial protection in the case of a disrupted or failed adoption. We can rest easy knowing that all of the funds raised WILL go toward us bringing our child home.

First of all, as timeworn as this sounds, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. This journey has been long, sorrowful and tiresome. Without the support and love of our family and friends, this road would have been much harder.
