Scripture Cat Mission

Donation protected
God has planted a desire and a special mission on my heart and I am ready to take action.  I am sharing this initiative which I will be dedicating my time, prayers and energies towards, and am asking for your help and support.  As many of you know, I have been inspired to write a book series with the intention of sharing the message of hope and love to children.  "Scripture Cat:  The Word is Where It's At" is the name of the first book of a series about our real-life rescue cat, Oliver.  The initial intention was to reach children to encourage them to know God more and engage with Him daily.  My motivation came about from my love for my own children,  as well as the children whom I serve in the middle school ministry at my church.  Here's where the incredible realization of a deeper mission happened:  Two weeks AFTER this book was published (which was a miracle as I have no formal training as a writer), God revealed to me the story-line parallel that would be important and relevant to children going thru extremely difficult times, similar to my own childhood story of heartache (and now, Redemption!).  In the book, Oliver tells of how he loses his Mama and siblings to Animal Control, gets adopted by a loving Christian family and is ultimately directed to a relationship with Christ by listening to their daily morning devotionals.

Almost 30 years ago, I was a child of an incarcerated parent and know firsthand the despair of having my father taken away from me and the devastation it has on a family.  Many years have gone by and the Lord has given me a life full of joy and blessings.  Now, He has a mission of purpose for me to bring hope to children in this generation who are going through extreme adverse circumstances.  I want them to know that life truly goes on and God has a plan for each and every one of them.   The need is great as there are currently 2.7 children in the U.S. alone with one or more parents in prison and is at epidemic levels globally.

I am asking for your consideration to help me go where the Lord sends me.  I want to be open and able to personally give my testimony and encouragement to children experiencing and enduring this walk and/or others going through any type of parental separation or loss.  This would include children of incarcerated parents, foster children, orphans, those who have parents with drug addictions, mental illness... the list goes on and on.  Scripture Cat is an outreach tool using a  whimsical yet  relatable character to deliver this message of faith and expectation in Christ.

Your prayers, donations, and/or purchase of the book (future devotional and Scripture Cat books coming soon) will help to fund this cause.  This will assist in providing transportation to conferences, speaking engagements, providing books for ministries and general costs related to this outreach mission.

Your help will go far to make all of this happen!  Please spread the word to your local churches and community organizations to bring awareness to this initiative.  I will be keeping everyone up to date on progress and events.  We are attending the Prison Family Conference in Dallas in May to network and exhibit the Scripture Cat Concept.  We have been invited to speak at various ministries across the US who have an existing relationship and outreach to children of incarcerated parents.  We have also been asked to bring Scripture Cat to Wells of Hope Ministries in Uganda.

You can visit the website at www.scripturecat.com to signup for email updates and keep informed on how God is moving in the lives of these children.

Many Blessings to You!
