My friend Scott is really going through some tough times. His significant health issues and chronic pain keep him from being able to work. He was in a serious car accident a couple years ago which didn't help matters. To top it all off, his wife recently left him.
Without her income, he's now stuck with a mortgage he can't pay. The little income and savings he has will allow him to limp along for several months, so action is needed.
Ideally he would like to pay off the mortgage ($49,000), but that might be unrealistic at this point. He's looking to sell it for what he can, and get a cheap apartment.
I'd like to help him with some of his legal fees and immediate needs and - if all goes well - maybe help him enough to pay off the mortgage so he doesn't have to move.

He's a retired auto mechanic and lives near Hickory, KY. He's been mowing lawns and fixing small engines for additional income, but he's now unable to even do that.
His income is limited to Social Security disability, and his savings is less than $1,000.
He has a long list of medical conditions. Here are a few of them: recent stroke and heart attack, chrones, diverticulosis, disc degeneration, blood sugar issues, insomnia, cirrhosis, chronic pain, and several things with big long medical names, along with some other issues.
