Save Cross-in-Hand Windmill
Donation protected
For the last five years a group of volunteers has been engaged in saving and repairing the windmill at Cross-in-Hand in Sussex, which was the last working windmill in Sussex and has sadly fallen into disrepair. Some money has been raised, and some good work done, including replacement of some major structural timbers, and most importantly, weatherproofing and pigeon proofing.
At the end of October, we intend to have a weekend at the mill with our volunteers, doing further work in cleaning and patching it up, especially with Winter approaching.
Funds are needed for materials, and also the services of a professional millwright on site, to make sure things are being done correctly.
