Sadhana Community Service Project GoFundMe appeal

Everything is always changing – and especially yoga! The yoga world is experiencing a revolution and Sadhana is at the forefront. People have fallen in love with yoga and are bringing it into their lives in many different ways – it is flourishing in schools, on farms, in the workplace, on hiking trips, in prisons, in sports, to name a few. It is truly inspiring.

We are taking yoga and moving it outside our studio to reach different populations. This year we initiated a yoga program for women on parole at the Women’s Center in Poughkeepsie and participated in a volunteer program that taught yoga to young men and women in the Hudson Correctional Facility.  Our teacher trainees created a yoga program for Spanish speaking students in Albany, taught yoga to undocumented workers in Rhinebeck, and brought yoga and nutrition to young women in foster care in Ghent.

This fall we are partnering with Twin County Recovery center in Hudson to bring yoga to the staff and to the clients.  Our fundraising appeal to YOU is to raise money for the teachers and for props for the center. Your donation will support our program of one class a week for the entire school year.  So, dig deep, give what you can, and we thank you for your kind donation.,

Oh my! We have almost reached our goal of raising $5000 to bring yoga into recovery, rehab and residential centers, and correctional facilities. Thank you so much for your donations! Would you help us by sharing this campaign on your social media, or tell a friend or send an email? Then we will surely meet our goal.
This week we have invited 3 speakers for a meeting/training with interested teachers. We are learning patience, (which we will get better at!) as Twin County works out legalities, so we can begin. Meanwhile we are talking to other organizations in the Hudson Valley, and the response is overwhelming. We are excited and challenged and it is your support that will make this happen. in gratitude, Sondra and Alison
